-Nez's Raiders and Zissou's Broncos :/ :)
-The last week of Warriors basketball. Thunder, Lakers, Pelicans, Mavs, and Nugget games.
- Dr Strange Movie impressions!
-Impractical Jokers Nitro Circus Live
-Impractical Jokers Nitro Circus Live

Just a little supplement for the podcast. Seems like i always get away from this blog. Especially since I started doing the at least 1 post a day thing on Instagram. Definitely my social of choice the past few years. If you don't already follow check it out. always posting about collecting, Star Wars, The Golden State Warriors, SF Giants, Denver Broncos, Movies and TV.

So The Nez is off to NYCC, The New York Comic Con so we won't be recording a pod this week. I might record a solo one, but this gives me the chance to write about the pod here right quick. Been meaning to since The Nez invited me to join the cast.
You can find it on itunes at itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-mac-nez-podcast/id1118732523?mt=2
or search for SK8ER NEZ Podcast Network
You can also listen at http://macnezpodcast.podbean.com/ If you access the pod on this page you can listen to both the Mac Nez podcast as well as our E Society pods right on the page.
We've recorded pods on The Rogue One trailer, The Get Down, Fall TV. The Nez often records on his favorite horror movies and recently recorded a pod on Judge Dredd. Check em out.
Since we aren't recording this week i thought i'd drop a little here on a few topics that we'll get into next time we record.
This last Friday, September 30th, was Rogue Friday. The first collectibles and merch from Rogue One hit. Picked up items from the Black Series, Basic figure line, and Funko Pop.
Baze and Chirrut teamup. 2 of the new Rogue One Pops. One of the many posts you'll see over on my instagram. We'll get into our Force Friday experiences as well next pod.
Recently checked out a doc on netflix. Sneakerheadz. I've dabbled in sneaker collecting, but with the Star Wars colection my main focus, I usually just keep up with posts and not really a ton of sneaker buying. My 2 most recent pairs, from a couple years ago some custom KD's with Warriors colors(It's like I could see it coming:) Anyways it was kind of cool to watch this doc and see some of the things i've seen on the net as far as collectors and these limited releases. Always interesting explaining it to friends and family who can't wrap their heads around it.
So yeah while I don't partake as much as i maybe would if funds weren't an issue, this is something i could totally relate to. If not with shoes, on a collecting level. It was at the top of the list of trending or popular films on netflix so it should be pretty easy to find. I know Nez follows skateboarding and they get into a little bit of it's influence. Check it out it your intrigued. :)
Oh and speaking of sneakers. Nike is releasing another 89 pairs of Nike Mags. The back to the future shoe. "In partnership with the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), Nike will provide everyone an opportunity to win one of the only pairs of the adaptive-lacing Nike Mag. In total, there are fewer than 100 pairs available globally through The Draw, which begins today, October 4, and ends October 11, 2016. The winners will be notified on October 17, 2016." https://www.nike.com/snkrs/thread/6b50313850e6afcf3e587b474265acb9588efc55
Yeah it's a long shot to win, but hey $10 and 100% of the proceeds will go to the MJFF to help find a cure for Parkinson’s. So that's cool, worth a shot. If you did win they would be awesome to have, but at the same time you could probably get a pretty insane price for em so they might be hard to hold on to. Take some pics with em first. :)
We recently recorded a fall tv preview where I talked about loving the new tv show Atlanta. So good. If you haven't checked it out i highly recommend it.
A clip from not only my favorite episode, but probably my favorite episode of tv this year. Ep 4. The Streisand Effect. Check it out :)
Westworld premiered this last Sunday night.
Luke Cage went up on netflix on Rogue Friday also. After 2 seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the 3rd Defender is here.
The Nez rolled through the season quick. I'm 5 episodes in. I really like what I've seen so far. The Gang starr titled episodes. Use of Hip Hop. Cage's take on what Daredevil did with a hallway fight. I'm sure i'll finish the season before next week when we record, so i'm sure we'll talk about Cage as well. :)
We'll also get into a fall movie preview. We don't plan to talk about every movie. Just a handful. We've already past September so some of them are out like Magnificent Seven which is only film I went to see in theaters during September. Going to see The Girl on the Train this weekend.
Definitely gonna be talking more about Rogue One. And more Fall movies.
So yeah not sure how many of these writes up i'll do but definitely check out the pod. We'll be talking about all this stuff.
The Nez will be checking in with a few mini casts on what he's sees at NYCC so check that out too.

We'll definitely get into this show on the pod. Some interesting things going on. I know Hbo wants this to be their new Thrones. It may not be that, but a lot to figure out.

Gotham Pilot TV Review
Hello everybody! Tonight was pretty epic. Gotham's first episode premiered and I loved it! Sadly because my local TV station sucks I missed the first couple minutes! Anyway when the show finally came on it was like- BAM! Bruce's (Young Batman is cute, right?) parents are dead which is something everybody has seen but we get to see the aftermath. Which includes Selina Kyle AKA Cat-woman witnessing Thomas and Martha Wayne 's death. Then we see Gotham's police station which like the city itself is very dark. Enter rookie James Gordon who ends up taking down a psycho while all the other fellow cops watch.
Gordon's corrupt partner Harvey Bullock congratulates him by taking him down to the Wayne's crime scene. There, Bruce meets James and they bond over their parents, then Alfred (who seems colder then Micheal Caine's version) comes to somewhat comfort Bruce. Bullock asks for another partner but Captain Essen says Gordon is a war hero and declines. James ignores Harvey's attempt to get him to transfer to a different station. "This is where the action is, you'll get used to me." As you can see they are off to a great relationship.
Cut to loud soundtrack while taking down thugs. We get a call from Edward Nigma (AKA The Riddler before craziness happened) who is currently working in the department. Harvey remarks about how Edward is in need of professional help, how ironic! Finally we meet Fish Mooney and can I just say- I love her red tips. Adds to the whole controlling attitude very well. Who else loved Oswald Cobblepot as her assistant? I mean now that I'm thinking about it nobody besides the Penguin would be perfect for a job like that. His resume'=Umbrella holder. Harvey and Fish have a past you could say. James is on edge. Later Barbara (James's fiance) helps him out. Bullock finds out Mario Pepper is a suspect for the Wayne case. And guess who his daughter is?!?! Ivy! Young Ivy Pepper everybody. Obviously Mario is reluctant and ends up in a shootout with Gordon. Which eventually ends up in a chase that leads to Bullock shooting Mario Pepper.
Back at the station Gordon is getting bandaged up when they find Mrs.Wayne's pearl necklace. Everybody in the station is overjoyed. Penguin sees the papers that Pepper was shot. Then he get's into MCU's car. He tells Renee and her partner that Fish framed Mooney not too long after meeting Gordon and Bullock. Later, we see Bruce at his parents funeral as well as Selina watching him from a distance all cat-like. Renee from MCU goes to visit Barbara to tell her James might be hiding something and that she is better off without him. When Barbara disagrees, Renee reminds her of her secrets. She then confronts James he goes to confront Renee. Who tells him Mr.Pepper was framed. Gordon speaks with Mrs.Pepper to find evidence.
We learn that Mooney is working for a man named Falcone. Bullock tells him to back off Fish. But Gordon goes anyway, where he gets knocked out. A worried Barbara goes to see Harvey. He then finds Gordon being held by Mooney's guys and threatens Fish. Penguin deception is discovered and Fish fights him and kicks him out. When Harvey and James are about to be killed, Falcone shoots Mooney's guys. Turns out he has the "no killing police" rule. Gordon knows Falcone has connections. "You can't have organized crime without order."
A little while later James and Harvey drive to the docks where a beat-up Penguin is in the trunk. Bullock tells Harvey that he has to take the snitch out. James walks Oswald to the end of the docks, pretends to shoot him then pushes him in the ocean still breathing. James then goes to Wayne Manner. Bruce is on the roof conquering his fears. Gordon informs him that Pepper was framed by the police and the mob but asks for another chance to find the killer. Bruce accepts. As Harvey leaves we see Selina once again looking over Wayne Manner. Penguin leaps out of the water alive who then proceeds to start going crazy.
Next Monday's episode we see Penguin leaves Gotham to prepare for a fight, Bruce still conquering his fears, and Mooney continues to be a threat. I am looking forward to it. Hope you liked my recap/review of Gotham's pilot!

Red Band Society Pilot

So last night I was on YouTube and saw the commercial for Red Band Society, advertising works! Who knew? Anyway onto my view point of the RBS pilot. First off, I loved how Charlie our narrator is actually a coma patient. Also i'm going to have to see if pizza really does help comas, I have a feeling it could work! Plus I have a couple theories about the dad/volunteer dude and Charlie's accident so hopefully we learn more about that soon.
Kara the cheerleader definitely has layers of skin to be removed. Drugs, smoking, and alcohol equals your typical "cray-cray" teenager. The girl who has no heart finally needs one to survive, very touching indeed. Making Kara realize she actually has to care about people other than herself. Her relationship with Nurse Jackson (Octavia Spencer!) is very humorous as well especially when she does her specific lunch order.
Jordi. Hmm very brave having the "balls" to find Dr. McAndrew with the cancer in his right leg and all. Leo and Emma have interesting history but stopped to due too much stress. Considering the touching dance moment near the end I suspect some Jordi and Emma love in the future. Honestly Emma is my favorite character right now, I love her humor! Jordi: "Your seriously twisted." Emma: "Not everyone appreciates it." Some inspiring words from Ruben and the leg goodbye party is on. Dash using Twilight as a pick up line on Nurse Dobler that was awkwardly hilarious especially because she has a boyfriend and a dog to get back to. And who could forget buying beer in Spanish! Later on, I love how Reuben, the doc, and Nurse Jackson converse about the roof party. Charlie's father finding out "none of this was your part" from Kara was cool.
The title Red Band Society is very sweet, each red bracelet represents different times Leo was in the hospital. My favorite line of the whole of the episode is *drum roll* "Your body isn't you. Your soul is you and they can never cut into your soul." which was Leo comforting Jordi about his upcoming leg surgery. Next week's preview showed what looked like a lot of mini clips from future episodes. No real spoilers on next Wednesday's episode but i'm still looking forward to next week's Red Band Society. Check out their twitter page and see all the hype! Til' next week, later!

San Diego Comic Con 2009 Wrap Up Report

I should of made a post before taking off for the con this year, but for some reason again I didn't pack till the last second, and was up till past 2 in the morning trying to make shirts to promote 30rockquotes.net
I was surprised how fast passes sold out this year and I missed out on a 4 day pass and had to buy all days separate. I was hoping they would be nice and just give me the 4 day pass, but no they wanted me to come back everyday and get a pass. They did let me into preview night so at least they didn't take that away.
First thing I did was visit Katie Cook so I could put in my order for art. It really turned out amazing. I got a full fett, and a bunch of mini paintings. Also picked up her sketch books. next I visited Grant Gould. I pre ordered a fett from him that's pretty awesome as well. I visited a couple of other artists. Got a sketch of Guile from one of the street fighter artists. Later in the show i got a fett sketch from the Fillbach Brothers, and a sketch card of fett from John Watkins-Chow. My goal this year was to visit artists and get some cool stuff, They were all very nice, and I'm real happy with what I got :)

On Thursday I spent just under 4 hours dealing with the Hasbro toyshop line. First a line to get a ticket to get in the line at the booth. Then around the booth a couple times before zig zaging toward the counter. Quite a pain, but I got the stuff we were after so it was cool. My little pony, littlest pet shop, muggs, baroness, and destro.
Got the rest of the collectible exclusives I was after as well as the show went on. LOST Ben bobble head, Guile figure, Ghostbusters minimates, and a couple other cool items.
On the floor they had a real nice display of custom mighty muggs (my favorite collectable) that are going to go up for charity soon. Another cool spot was a display of props from across all 5 seasons of LOST. That was one thing i sadly missed getting pics from.
Katie Cook's Custom Wampa. So awesome

One of the biggest highlights of the show for me was meeting Elizabeth Mitchell. She was doing a signing for her new show V. She was really nice. Talked a little LOST. How bummed I was about what happened in the finale. I tried to get a pic, but it ended up very blurry, she offered to take again, but I knew it wouldn't get any better. It was really great to meet her though :)

On Thursday night we were lucky enough to be the first to see the world premiere, no hollywood premiere, of District 9. Peter Jackson was there to introduce the first time director Neill Blomkamp and actor Sharlto Copley. I read a article on the way down to the con on how it was the halo movie, it wasn't but it really was amazing. Best Sci-fi movie i've seen in a long time. Has a Little feel of the office/cloverfield/alien nation. It really is great though. I plan to see it again in theaters. I got to meet Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan who were there as well for the screening. I told Dominic it would be great to see him on LOST again, and he said you never know. Then later at the LOST Panel he showed up. ha!
District 9 star Sharlto Copley, Kevin, and I

Later that night we came across one of the coolest things at the con. Flynn's Arcade. Which was a tron experience to promote the upcoming tron film. We arrived just in time to see them revel the sign. It was at a random building around the corner from our hotel. It was like a 80's arcade with the games to play for free. Blasting 80's music. After about 15 minutes the place started to shake and the back of the arcade opened up to a hall of concept art for the film, and at the end they had one of the light bikes. Got Cool T shirts of flynn's arcade and flynn lives. They had a experience like this for alice in wonderland, but i missed it. we got pics of it though.

Friday was starwars day. I started off trying to get into Where the wild things are panel in H. It was part of the WB panel. Kevin and I were literally the last 2 people they cut off before wild things started. Super Bummed. I went right to the WB booth when the kid, who's name happens to be max just like the character, was doing a limited signing. They weren't taking a line for it, but if you just stood around and ignored them you could slowly work your way when they did open a line. It was nice to get that signing since they weren't giving out anything else wild things the rest of the show. From there i went to The Star Wars Panels the rest of the day. The voice actors one was cool since they did a read through in character of the first scene from the upcoming season. The old republic videogame panel didn't give much info. Sounds like a great game, but when I went up to the front after the panel ended they would give any info at all on a possible release date. The big starwars spectacular in the big hall H was hosted my Kevin and Olivia from G4. It turned out pretty much as i figured with Olivia hassling the guests. The preview for season 2 of the clonewars was great. Mando's woo! You can still see it online.

Saturday everything i did was in panels which made me feel like I was missing something elsewhere. First was LOST which was one of the best panels as usual. Gonna miss that one at the con. Not too many teases for the final season except a couple of videos where Hurley is advertising for Mr clucks saying what good luck he's had since going to Australia, and a Americas most wanted about Kate talking about how she tried to kill her step dad, but killed someone close to her. Sounds like a alt time line. Jorge who plays hurley was in the question line and asked if the bomb did work then all the past 5 seasons were for nothing. The writers replied that he would have to trust them. Emerson who plays Ben them showed up and started playfully insulting Jorge/Hurley. Nestor who plays Richard Alpert was there. The big one was Josh Holloway/Sawyer. He wanted the writers to show the page with the final scene for the audience. Emerson read it and it ended up being a fake heroes script. lol! They also showed a couple of funny fan videos.

I decided to sit through the rest of the panels that day so I wouldn't miss out on Ironman 2. Other panels included Solomon Kane, Zombieland, 2012, and Extract. That one was cool since Bateman was there. He spoke on the upcoming arrested development movie. He said they were writing it, but could take 6 weeks to 18 months to finish :/ Extract looks good too. Mike Judge film with a feel like office space set in a warehouse.
Ironman 2. Glad I waited for it. The place was completely full, and i think those that even showed up for the panel before (2012) didn't get in. I heard some of the people that went into the food area of hall h weren't let back in, and they only went 45 minutes instead of the full hour because of the fire Marshall. Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, and Sam Rockwell attended. At first they showed a cheesy little ironman 2 next summer clip with no footage just the cast training. Downey Jr then demanded more for the people. You could tell it was clips set up just for the con. Pretty cool stuff. A scene with Downey Jr and Sam Jackson. The shot of Mickey Rourke as whiplash was real cool, whipping over and over. They ended it with a scene of Sam Rockwell showing weapons to Don Cheadle asking what he wants, with Cheadle replying "all of it" Then footage of War Machine unloading like crazy. So yeah Cool stuff :P

Last panel of Saturday was Weeds. Jenji Kohan, Justin Kirk, and Hunter Parrish attended. no info, footage, or anything. Still a good panel though. I was a little annoyed how many people at question time said they didn't know Jenji was a lady. Got my badge signed by Hunter Parrish.
Sunday I attended Katie Cook's how to draw star wars panel. It was fun, glad it wasn't full this year. It was last year, and i didn't want to take a seat from a kid. Did final last things on the floor, said bye and thanks to the artists I met.
Our first hotel was the gas lamp Marriott. It wasn't too far away and had a great view into petco park. The padres and marlins just happened to be playing when we got there. Had a cool little rooftop bar too that we visited the first night. On Friday we moved over to the Marriott right next to the convention center. More stars, and the amazing pool. Somehow it seemed further to me even though it was right next to. I guess cause it's opposite Hall H and we ended up in that line a couple times Friday and Saturday. We stayed a extra day this year. So it was nice to be able and enjoy the pool and hotel. Also visited the seaport village on monday before we left for the airport.

Ah Joel won big again this year. A cam corder from 2012. He won a ambassador spot to promote the film. Maybe he will end up with another prize.

So yeah wrote a ton again this year in which i don't count on anyone reading anything, but it will be fun for me to look back on. The con was great fun again this year, and I'm already looking forward to next year. :)
